Carving Pumpkins

We had Rosealie,Chloe, Madison and Zoe carve their pumpkins last night...I wasn't able to watch them to much but was able to come out and see the end after they were done. Thanks Mike for taking pictures!

Up-Date on Madison

Ok...today was surgery day.
1. Up at 4:30am to be there by 5:30am
2. Got all checked in and went to waiting room
4. Got her back to her room and all the nurses and doctors came in and talked to us.
5. At 7:40am she went back to the OR and they started surgery.
6. We went down and got some breakfast, Bill had biscuts,gravy,sausage. Me yogurt and orange juice.
7. We went back up to waiting room and Bil went to sleep, me listened to my MP3 player and worried.
8. At about 10:00am the doctor came out and said that everything had gotten great, hardly any bleeding, so he wouldn't have black eyes, which Madison is grateful for. He also said that they got everything and she should be able to breath much, much better!
9. About 8 minutes later we were able to go back and see her.
10. She had alittle problems waking up but after she slept off the meds. she was ready to go home.
11. She is doing really well and has been enjoying the watching tv and eating chicken noodle chunky soup her favorite!
Thank you to everyone for the thoughts and prayer on here and also facebook....we expect her to be able to go to school next week sometime.

Prayers and Surgery

This Friday (Sept. 9th)is when Madison surgery is, we haven't really told Madison how extentive the surgery really is because of her worrying already. I won't lie to you and tell you that Wiliam and I aren't worried for her, this little girl (which Madison isn't little) is in for a hard recovery.

Here are the procedures she is having done if you want to go look it up... bilateral maxillary antrostomies with tissue removal, bilateral ethmoids,bilat sphenoids with tissue removal,bilat frontal sinusotomies, nasal polypectomy.

The surgery is going to last about 4 hours if there is no problems they run into...we will let family and close friends know of whats going on and will have an update the night of her surgery on here.

We are asking for your prayers on her behalf, that she may be strong and be able to recover fast. Thank you......

About Time

Sorry it's about time I wrote on the blog...Well there is alot to write about hopefully I remember it all.
Madison turned 11 yesturday and a really good day. Saturday we had her party and shegot to invite her favorite friends! She had some of her favorite foods BBQ pulled pork, chicken, mashed potatoes, corn bread and mixed berry cobbler.
Also a couple of weeks ago I took Madison into get an allergy test done...Not sure if it was good or bad to know what she is allergic too. 77 out of the 80 she is allergic, 33 of those are highly allergic. We had to get rid of our dog because that was one of them, but she went to a good home a family in our ward took her.
Madison will be having surgery on the 9th of Septmeber to have polups removed from her nose. It has turned into quite a surgery so your prayers are appreciated. William and I watched a video and read about it and the details, we had to quit because we were getting sick thinking about what she is going to have to go through. She is also having to have her septum straighten because it is pushed into the right side of her nose. She will have black eyes for awhile after.
William has been busy with work and has now been called to the 2nd Councler in the Elders Quorum, I was released as a Primary worker.
Rosealie started school a week ago and really enjoys going.We have seen the improvements already her talking has gotten alot clearer and we understand her alot better.
Life is busy in the Crawford Corner but we are loving life!

Not to many know that I have been having some severe pain in my lower back,hips and legs for about 6 weeks now, to where I can hardly walk. Today I went to my doctor and he is sending me in to get an MRI, my appointment should be sometime next week. After that I will go back and get the readings of what it says. I am hoping for some good news we will see. The pain has felt like the arthrist that is in my knee but 10 times worse, but I'm not a doctor so who knows. I will keep you up to date of whats going on.

George Crawford Family Reunion

Last week we had the Crawford Family Reunion...It was so good seeing everyone! Missed the ones that couldn't make it :( It was held in Prescott at the Bradshaw Pines..it was nice and cool for most part and rainy. We had alot to eat and good company! Jamie won the Bowling Trophy with the high score of 152, which he is taking back to Afghanistan. Bob and Harley won the redneck golf title belts. Sunday was William and I, 30th Anniversary...Friday we went out and had dinner together at Texas Roadhouse our favorite place to eat. Then we went home to have a quiet time together watching a movie in our room because of the crowded house that is the only quiet place left! LOL Well it ended up being a really good movie but by myself. I think 5 minutes if that into the movie William fell asleep, but that is due to him working sooooo many hours at work to provide for our ever growing family in the house. William is a wonderful man and has done so much for not only me over the 30 years but for so many others in and ou of his family. I love him so much for doing that!

Here is my list of the 30 things I love him for, not in any order:(alot more than 30)

1.The way he promised to make me laugh every day for the rest of my life...and he does!

2.For the way he just gentle puts his hand in mine when we sit next to eachother.

3.The "BIG" grin he gives me when I'm trying to be serious.

4. For giving me 5 wonderful children.

5. Being a amazing Husband.

6.For putting up with all my faults.

7.For trying his best when he works on the house.

8. Growing a garden and all the fruit that he does...yummy!

9.For cutting up my steak...I still can't!

10. Him trying to give up Dr. Pepper.(keep going you can do it!)

11.Him taking up 96% of the king size bed...make me feel safe with him sleep right againsted my back.

12.Him embarrasing the kids when he drop them off at high school and yelling "I LOVE YOU, HAVE A NICE DAY!" at the top of his lungs...They will never forget that one!

13. For him loving his grandkids, the only way that he can. (getting better)

14.Him letting me cut my hair short when he loves long hair, which I am growing out for him right now.

15.Going through the Temple with me so that we will be an Eternal Family.

16.Taking care of me when I was down flat on my back. (Litterally)

17. Sitting with me at the hospital with all of my health problems. ( he HATES hospitals)

18.Giving many blessing to not only me but his children and grandchildren.

19.For cooking so well!!!

20.Him calling me once in awhile, while he is at work.

21.For doing things I like to do even if he doesn't want too.

22.For making up random songs about ANYTHING!

23.Putting up with ALL my scrapbooking stuff!

24.His LARGE food storage stuff everywhere!(I mean everywhere!) "aka Zombie survival kit"

25.Him buying Keebler Jumbo Peanut Butter Stick by the DOZEN!

26.Filiberto's Taco Tuesday!

27.Him folding his own laundry, because he doesn't like the way I hang his pants.

28.Him eating my meatloaf for 23 years and not telling me he doesn't like it really.

29.Helping out around the house if I have had a bad day.

30.That in his eye's I am still 17 years old.

Boy talk about a long day and I'm not even started to be done with it. So here goes...

1st: Got up this morning because we have a booking this Thursday.

2nd: Got ready to buy everything needed for Thursday.

3rd: Drove to Resturant Depot (love that place!) got everything we needed from there.

4th: Drove to Costco (love that place too!) and got rest of stuff needed from there.

5th: Took things home that needed to be in frig.

6th: Getting invoice ready to take to place of booking so then can drop it off and go to Frys.

7th: Phone rings it Madisons school nurses office..."sigh!"

8th: Informed that Madison had taken a pretty terrible fall and hit her knee and they may think it is broken...(heart falls) :(

9th: Have Zane finish invoice and I leave for school.

10th: Get Madison into truck(fun times-glad no one had a camera!)

11th: Call Doctor and they can get her right in, so drive to doctors office.

12th: Wait at office FOREVER: Doctors exam,X-Rays, see doctor again...

13th: Knee ISN'T broken (YEAH!)

14th: She has to be off of it for 1 day and on curtches for a week!

15th: Now I have to start cooking, 228 Choclate Chip Cookies, and 114 Brownies for Thursday and then it starts all over again tomorrow cooking other stuff for booking.

I love my non boring life!!! (remind me why I do this...)

OH-16th: I have a doctors appt. tomorrow for an ultra sound on my arm to see why it is still hurting from my angeogram 2 weeks ago...never boring!

For about a month now we have been closing in our patio to make a food storage and craftroom. I forgot to get a before picture, but you can imagine it was a patio. He are some picture up to the drywall and some taping. We have more taping and then texture, painting and new wood flooring, I will post more pictures after it is all done. It is a long road to do this...I will so be glad when ALL the dust is gone!!!

For those of you that know me....I never have my Christmas Tree,Lights or Decorations up before at least 2 days before Christmas...Baw~Hum~Bug!!! I blame it all on the stores! I mean please we haven't even had Halloween or Thanksgiving and the stores had Christmas trees and all the other stuff and music playing, give me a break! I am a HUGE Thanksgiving person and that's my big holiday! Anyways as I rabble on my point is I have my tree up and decorations hung and Bill is putting up the light on the outside of house Saturday and it's the day before December! I know crazy huh...

On Saturday, Bill and I went on a road trip with good friends. First we went to Miami (of coarse, Arizona!) to eat at a little place called The Mexican Food, Burger House. Then after that we went north towards Roosevelt Dam and turned and visited Workman Creek falls inside Tonto National Forrest. It is really beautiful there...we even got to see snow and about 6 deer! What a wonderful way to spend on an amazing day. After that we drove back through Young and Payson. We stop in Payson at D.Q. for some ice cream...it was about 54* and we get an urge for ice cream. Where we crazy or what! Thanks Barron and Alicia for a fun day full of memories that will be with us forever!

Pumpkin Yummy!!!

This is the best ever easiest pumpkin treat to make~ENJOY!!!

Pumpkin Yummy!
1-15oz can of pumpkin mix
1 can of evaporated milk
3 eggs
1 c. sugar
2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 yellow box cake mix
1 1/2 c. chopped pecans
3/4 c. butter melted

Mix together pumpkin, evaporated milk, eggs, sugar, and spices and pour in the bottom of a sprayed 9x13 glass dish. Sprinkle box cake over the top. Sprinkle chopped pecans over the top. Bake@ 350 for 45-55 mins or until pecans are browned and filling has set ( if it is "jiggly" when you move the pan around, bake a little longer.) Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream!:)

As many of our family and some friends know...Brittany has been diagnosed with ovarian cancer. She is doing well and right now asks for just your prayers, she is needing to do everything herself right now just to keep focused, she will need our help most later. She is very tired but knows she needs to keep going for her girls. They are right now in the planning stages of when she will have surgery and when to start kemo or radiation. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you and your families that you are doing well...Love to all of you!

Will You give this to my Daddy?
As a Company, Southwest Airlines is going to support 'Red Fridays.' Last week I was in Atlanta , Georgia attending a conference. While I was in the airport, returning home, I heard several people behind me beginning to clap and cheer. I immediately turned around and witnessed One of the greatest acts of patriotism I have ever seen. Moving threw the terminal was a group of soldiers in their camos. As they began heading to their gate, everyone (well almost everyone) was abruptly to their feet with their hands waving and cheering. When I saw the soldiers, probably 30-40 of them, being applauded and Cheered for, it hit me. I'm not alone. I'm not the only red-blooded American who still loves this country and supports our troops and their families. Of course I immediately stopped and began clapping for these young unsung heroes who are putting their lives on the line everyday for us so we can go to school, work and home without fear or reprisal. Just when I thought I could not be more proud of my country or of our Service men and women, a young girl, not more than 6 or 7 years old ran up to one of the male soldiers. He knelt down and said 'hi...' The little girl then asked him if he would give something to her daddy for her... The young soldier, who didn't look any older than maybe 22 himself, said he would try and what did she want to give to her daddy. Then suddenly the little girl grabbed the neck of this soldier, gave him the biggest hug she could muster and then kissed him on the cheek. The mother of the little girl, who said her daughter's name was Courtney, told the young soldier that her husband was a Marine and had been in Iraq for 11 months now. As the mom was explaining how much her daughter Courtney missed her father, the young soldier began to tear up. When this temporarily single mom was done explaining her situation, all of the soldiers huddled together for a brief second... Then one of the other servicemen pulled out a military-looking walkie-talkie. They started playing with the device and talking back and forth on it..After about 10-15 seconds of this, the young soldier walked back over to Courtney, bent down and said this to her, 'I spoke to your daddy and he told me to give this to you.' He then hugged this little girl that he had just met and gave her a kiss on the cheek. He finished by saying 'your daddy told me to tell you that he loves you more than anything and he is coming home very soon.' The mom at this point was crying almost uncontrollably and as the young soldier stood to his feet, he saluted Courtney and her mom. I was standing no more than 6 feet away from this entire event. As the soldiers began to leave, heading towards their gate, people resumed their applause. As I stood there applauding and looked around, there were very few dry eyes, including my own. That young soldier in one last act of selflessness turned around and blew a kiss to Courtney with a tear rolling down his cheek. We need to remember everyday all of our soldiers and their families and thank God for them and their sacrifices. At the end of the day, it's good to be an American. RED FRIDAYS ----- Very soon, you will see a great many people wearing red every Friday. The reason? Americans who support our troops used to be called the 'silent majority'. We are no longer silent, and are voicing our love for God, country and home in record breaking numbers. Our idea of showing solidarity and support for our troops with dignity and respect starts this Friday - and continues each and every Friday until the troops all come home, sending a deafening message that... Every red-blooded American who supports our men and women afar will wear something red. By word of mouth, press, TV -- let's make the United States on every Friday a sea of red much like a homecoming football game in the bleachers. If every one of us who loves this country will share this with acquaintances, co-workers, friends, and family. It will not be long before the USA is covered in RED.The first thing a soldier says when asked 'What can we do to make things better for you?' is.....We need your support and your prayers.

Long explanation sorry: After a long day of doing things, we ended up in the E.R. with Madison. Her and I went to Savers with Brittany and the girls. As we were leaving Madison was helping out with one of the girls. A lady was holding the door for us, well just as Madison and Chloe were going out the door the lady lets go of the wide open door. So Chloe wouldn't get hurt, Madison stuck her arm and elbow out to stop the door from hitting Chloe in the head. Needless to say, Madison elbow hit the door and of coarse began to swell and turn purple. So we head to the hospital and a few X-Rays later, they said that there was to much fluid on her elbow and they couldn't really tell if it was truly a complete brake. So they are treating it as if it is one. What a way to start a vacation!

Madison is taking swimming lessons from Ms. Harley. She loves it and went from doggie paddling to swimming across the pool the first day, AWESOME! She has so much confidence now and loves her teacher. She can't wait for each day so she can go learn more....

For my birthday, we went out to eat with our good friends Barron and Alicia to a little place called Zamora's, they have really good Mexican food there. Afterwards Bill and Madison took me out to get my present...I got a Critcut Expression! I LOVE IT!!! I have already made a scrapbook page with it. I want to go take a class on it so I can learn so much more, can't wait!

So the day after my birthday Summer had invited me to go with a group of ladies that all had birthday with in a couple of week of each other. It was so fun! We went to Oregano's for dinner, we had soooo much food. I think we all left with a to-go box! (Thanks Summer so much fun!)

On the next week my mother, sister in law and I went out for lunch at Serrano's, it was so yummy...I got some really cute lights for my back yard from my mom. She has a set and I have been wanting some for so long, so she got me a set. So if you ever come over ask to see my lights. There is a butterfly, dragonfly and a humming bird. They light up at night, I put them in our strawberry patch. LeAnn (my sister in law) gave me the best smelling (rose)lotions and bath set.

Throughout the day 3 of my children called me and told me "Happy Birthday Mom!" which made my day! I was getting kind of worried that my oldest, Chris hadn't called. I talked to Brittany and mentioned to her that I hadn't heard from Chris. Well Brittany being the little sister, text him and said, Today is mom's birthday. Not to long after that I got a text from Chris and he said that he had been sick and just forgot what the day was...I soon forgave him when he put at the end of his text...Happy "21st" Birthday Mom, Love you!

I immediately text him and back told him it was alright that I understood that he had been sick and that I knew he was my favorite child for some reason!

So this years birthday was really good, thanks to family and friends, Thank you!

This is what I would really like to do to our car!!! (and not call the fire department)
Last night I was on my way to go pick up Bill at work...(mind you it is at 8:00pm I am doing this. So I get to almost 107th Ave./Buckeye (dark place right!?!)and the car starts making this jerking and then I am pushing on the gas and it starts to slow down. Me thinking it was like a air bubble I let off the gas and then start to push again. NO LUCK! it wasn't going anywhere. I of coarse start thinking what am I going to do, I can't walk to Bills work this late at night by myself...So I called Alicia and Barron and they came to my rescue, My Knights in shinning Suburban! We got the car back home finally and come to find out it is a computer problem...yeah the joys of owning a Corolla~GRRRRRRR!

We got a new dog...her name is Maddie. (she was already named) Madison and her have hit it off right from the start. Maddie sleeps in her room right next to her. Bill won't admit but he likes her too as you can see from the picture. She loves to go on rides, she goes with me to take Bill to work, Madison to school and to pick them up. She sits by the window watching for them and as soon as she see them that tail starts to wage as fast as it can go. Maddie is a Chihuahua/Mini Greyhound Mix. She doesn't stand very tall and is full grown now. We are glad to have her in our family....

Never Look Down!

Never look down when walking behind a store because the dumpster will reach out and attack you...If you think Zane's face looks bad you should see the dumpster!

Zane is a Security Guard for the Malls at Lake Havasu and was out on patrol late at night and it was raining, he thought he had seen something lying on the ground. Looked down to see what it was and that's when the dumpster grab him.

Only a mother with blackmail on her mind would post this on her blog while talking to her hurt son...Hee hee! (he says, "He feels special!")

The Adventure Started and Everyone is Safe!

For those of you that don't know the whole story, here is a short version. Jamie and family found out they were moving to Ft. Campbell, Kentucky instead of Korea (yeah right!) well they didn't expect it til next year. HA HA HA....Almost 2 weeks ago they found out they had 10 days to move out of their house and move to Ft. Campbell in 11 after that. That gives them NO time for slowing down at all!....

So time was spent....1. packing the house 2. getting car fixed from a boo boo 3. Jamie getting all the paperwork done for the move and housing in Kentucky 4. paying off bills 5. having all phones and etc. turned off 6. Returning Christmas gifts so they don't have to pack them all up 7. not being able to get passports in time for Mary and the boys to ride with Jamie, so buying plane tickets to Seattle 8. Jamie having to drive the car to Seattle 9. and all the Etc's......

So Mary and the boys made it safely to Seattle and waiting for Jamie.

Now Jamie's side of the adventure...1. spinning out on black ice and having to dig his way out of the snow bank with no shovel 2. almost hitting a Caribou standing in the middle of the road on a mountain corner 3. hitting black ice again at 20 miles an hour and breaking the plastic piece from underneath the car, which is alright as long as he was ok! 4. eating on the run 5. not stopping to use the bathroom (I know TMI) 6. not getting to much sleep 7. making it to Seattle at 3am this morning...SAFE! 8. A mother not worrying anymore!

I am so grateful to my Heavenly Father for keeping them all safe on their journey and the journey's they have yet to face.

So they will spend the day in Seattle and then drive to Arizona to spend Christmas with us, I am so excited! Can't wait to see those grand boys of mine....I will be posting ALOT of pictures.

Pondering and Being Thankful

As I sit and ponder about the next couple of days and what I have to endure. I am grateful for what I have and for what I have gone through in my life so far. I know my Heavenly Father has given me personal challenges to go through and to learn and over come...I am grateful for each one of them. I am grateful to a loving mother and father who raised me and cared for me. I am grateful for a loving family and in laws that take care of me when needed and loves me. To a wonderful husband who puts up with all my odd moments and still loves me. To my 5 loving children, their spouses and my adorable Grandchildren! I cherish each moment we have together and the memories we have made and to those we have yet to make... To my friends that I have, the kind words when I have needed them, a call at the right time, a taco bell run or for just a smile down a long hallway! I am blessed with some much in my life, thank you.

I love the poem "Footprints" the part I like best is when it says, "He whispered,"My precious child, I love you and will never leave you never, ever, during your trails and testings. When you saw only one set of footprints it was then I carried you."

There are definately Angels among us and I have witnessed that all through this day on the one year anniversary of Lorin's passing. How blessed I feel to have not only heavenly Angels that help us but many, many earthly Angels that are walking amongst us each and every day to lift and carry us when the load seems to heavy to bear. Today has been a wonderful day from the moment someone broke into my house at 6:00 am (while I'm saying my morning prayer) only to hear beautiful music being played by an Angel on the baby grand a few seconds later and feeling the presence of Lorin in my home. Craig and I got a 75 min. personal concert and watched the sun come up. Then to walk out my front door to find our yard was covered in red hearts with sweet little thoughts of Lorin written on each one and a note that read "We will always Remember"at my front door. Then my patio covered with 62 bottles of IBC Rootbeer with red and black ribbons tied around each one, knowing that IBC was Lorin's favorite soda and 62 was his football #. And all that happened before 7:30 this morning. As the day went on we had several visits, phone calls, text messages, cards and e-mails letting us know that we were being thought of and that Lorin's memory lives on. Now if that isn't "Angels" amongst us, I don't know what is.This evening we had a little memorial at the cemetery that turned out real nice as we took turns relating special memories that we had of Lorin along with playing some of the music we had recorded from our morning concert. Many more Angels had already been at the cemetery and left sweet notes, gifts and memories. While at the cemetery waiting to start, Landon (our grandson) handed out little bags of blue skittles that he and his little brother, Van had helped their mom put together, knowing that the blue skittles were Lorin's favorite and he had asked for them several times while in the hospital. We ended our evening going to Mattas (Lorin's favorite restaurant) and continued reminising there, having a wonderful time together as a family. Another Angel picked up the tab!I am so grateful to my husband, children, grandchildren, family and friends for making this day such a special and memorable one in honor of such an amazing son. How blessed I am to have been his mother! I miss him terribly but I know that he is exactly where he is suppose to be and serving the Lord just like he wanted.Lorin has had several friends leave on missions this year and 2 of them leaving just today. I have no doubt that he will be there to help guide them many times throughout there 2 years. Lorin is lucky enough to be able to serve many more years and we are seeing and feeling the blessings of that. Until we meet again, I love you sweetheart. Serve well.Your Eternal Mother

I really can't believe that it has been a year since Lorin left our lives for a much better place. I sit and think today of all the good times and fun memories. I knew before Lorin was born he was going to make a impact on this world, he was wanting to come here so bad to get ready to teach each us of his Father in Heaven. What a missionary he was and still is, if it was possible to ooze the gospel, Lorin did. Everything this special young man touch had the gospel bound to it some how! He was such a great example to all of us. Madison looked up to him so much and she misses him terribly...I remind her of what great work he is doing for Heavenly Father and that if she lives her life right, she will see him again. "That tomorrow is just another day."

Fall Festival

Our ward has it's annual fall festival each year. Bill's mother gave Madison a costume that she had made 8 years ago. So Madison went as Pocahontas...she got a lot of complements on her outfit. She lasted longer in the wig than I thought. The fall festival was great as always!

I guess with the Army nothing is official until you step off the plane! Jamie, Mary and the boys are now going to Fort Campbell, Kentucky instead of Korea. I am not sure how they feel about it, but I know I am thrilled to no end! Korea is along ways away and I knew I would never be able to visit them. I haven't been able to even go to Alaska because of cost, so I am much happier to have them here in the lower 48 again!!! William was stationed at Fort Campbell 21 years ago and loved it. Jamie and his brother Zane were born there also. We are excited for them, they won't be there til next August. Jamie has to go through AIT again for his new MOS first.

Well as official as the Army can be to this point, it could change. Jamie and his family's new duty station will be in Korea...Jamie re-enlisted in the Army and is changing his MOS, he will be a Air Traffic Controller. He starts AIT (schooling) In March of next year, Mary and the boys will stay in Alaska til he his done then they will all go to Korea for 2 years.

Not a fun thing to go through just a couple of days before your birthday...Monday night Madison was complaining about her throat hurting, so of coarse we did the gargling thing and put her in bed. The next day she didn't go to school and by the afternoon her allergies were way out of control, her throat is all better though. Well this morning when she got up it was a lot worse than last night. I keep telling her she needs to get better because tomorrow is her birthday...so here are some pictures of her poor nose!

Madison is so ready to start school again. As some of you know we really had a hard time getting her motivated to go to school at the end of last year. That is no way Madison, she is usually up and ready to go to school before Bill and I are even up in the morning. Well we figured out by her Aims testing and talking to her that she was not doing good in her new school, I am not going to point fingers and bad mouth but she has gone to better schools before. Anyways we have her going back to Canyon Breeze were she loved it! She is back to the old Madison counting down the days til she is back in school...I will have to drive her to school but it is worth her education! School count down is 1 week and 4 days as of this blog...YAHOO!

Madison lost 2 of her bottom teeth...Two Sundays ago Madison's tooth finally came out, it had been loose forever. Then last night the other came out just as she was lying down for bed in fact it fell on the floor and we had to find it, that was adventure in itself!
