Wacky Wednesday

For those people that are in my ward, you would remember Elder Kafusi and Elder Rogerson. Well this picture was taken when they were together up on the Indian reservation. It's funny how they both served in our ward but different times. Leave it to Elder Kafusi to make you smile!

Doctors

Well I guess this is my week for Doctors! Yesterday (Monday) I had an appointment with my family physician for my feet. About a little over a month ago both my feet started hurting real bad, it got to were I was not able to put shoes on. When I called for the appointment I wasn't able to get it with my doctor so I saw one of the other doctors in the office. He told me that I would have to go see a podiatrist (foot doctor), so Thursday morning I see him. After talking for awhile about that, he asked how my thyroid was and it was time to have another blood test done, I said, OK. Then he asked how my diabetes was going and if I had any problems? The look on my face was probably priceless, as I said, "My what!" He said, "You weren't told?" Of coarse not....When was this? (I guess back in October of last year, before my surgery, when I had all the lab work done.) So he said," We will do another one and let you know what it says and then we will go from there. (I am thinking, I am going to change doctors!) #2 doctors appointment was with my heart doctor, and she says everything is looking good and that she will see me in a year unless something else happens. Today I went to my surgeon for my neck. And I got a clean bill of health. I go back and see him in a month just to have an xray to make sure everything is still OK and not moving around.

Memory

Today Bill,Madison and I went to Arizona Mills Mall to meet our oldest son, Chris. His wife and him are down for their anniversary, so we had lunch together. As we were walking the mall I saw this guy painting some shirts so I took a look. I decided to get me one. Here is what I got, I love it and I am going to wear it for the London's Run at the end of this month. It is for my nephew Lorin Merkley, his football number was 62...(http://www.london)

A Great Day!

Today was a awesome day...Got to spend the day with GRAVE DIGGER!!!!

Flashback Friday

I have decided to do a Flashback Friday of my mother. I am not sure what year this was taken but I do know she was in high school. I am thinking 1938-39 maybe. She went to Mesa High School (boo hiss) were she was what they called a Roper, now days dance team. My kids think that this is really neat, that their grandma could take a rope and twirl it above her head and jump through it and do tricks! My mother is the one on your left...

What A Wonderful Idea!

I got this from the February Ensign this year.

"Cards that Keep"
I gave my wife what I thought was a one-time gift for Christmas, but when Valentine's Day drew close, I saw my gift as one that could truly "keep on giving." I enjoy giving cards to my wife, but I realized that they were usually read once or twice and then tossed into a box or a binder or discarded in the trash. I wanted something that would be long lasting for my wife to read again and again. So I substituted an inexpensive notebook for my Christmas card and wrote down my memories and feelings about our courtship and marriage. There was no specific order to my entries. I just wrote down what came to mind.
When Valentine's Day approached, I decided to pull out the notebook, write down my feelings once again, and wrap it up as my "card". After this, the notebook entries weren't just for holidays gifts. Now anytime she does something kind for me or I feel a rush of love and appreciation for her, I pull out the notebook and record those feelings. I never tell her when I have added an entry. I let her be surprised when she checks the notebook periodically.
And I was pleasantly surprised for my birthday when my wife gave me my own "notebook card", sharing her feelings for me. We look forward to filling these notebooks and many more for years to come.

What a wonderful and neat keepsake idea, I think I know what I am doing for Valentine's Day this year.

Wacky Wednesday

Ok I know some of you will look at the day and see that it is Tuesday...but it is 11:40pm and I have alot to do tomorrow and would probably forget to put my Wacky Wednesday on. So I am doing it now while I remember too! (hee-hee)

So this Wacky Wednesday is on Madison, this is when we lived in East Mesa. I believe it is in 2004. Anyways Madison had been having a bad day and really just wanted to be alone, I know she was only 4 at the time, but when ever anyone would get near her she would say, "Go away...". So we all went into watch tv and about 25 mins. later I went to check on her, she had been found in her room playing the last couple of times, so that's where I headed. Well I got to about the hallway and had to turn back and get my camera. She had feel asleep in the hallway just outside her bedroom door. It was so cute, she was wrapped up in her favorite blanket sleeping. We left her there til we went to sleep. What funny things kids will do!

Very Special

Tonight as we were leaving the dinner...my sister in law LeAnn gave Madison something. As we were getting in the car, Madison said,"Mom, this is very special to me." (I thought she did good not to cry, I was teary eyed.) What she got was a Mickey Mouse pen and calculator set, Lorin (my nephew who passed from cancer) got when he was 8 years old for having 100% attendance in school that year, which he proudly kept in the box and kept it in his dresser draw, looking at it often. LeAnn also gave Madison a stuffed bear that was Lorin's and she told Madison that it was Lorin's favorite. It has a bracelet on that says, "You Are Loved". Madison has named the bear, Lorin. Madison loves Lorin so much and is trying very hard to live the same kind of life Lorin did, by following his great example!

Dinner with Grandma Betty

Each year we have a dinner with my Mom (Charilla's). We usually did it around Christmas time, well this year she decided to do it after my nephew Brandon got home off his mission. So tonight we went and met at the Golden Corral in Mesa. We all had fun talking and eating, I think there was more eating than talking. Thanks Mom for the great dinner!

Flashback Friday~2007

This is from Christmas of 2007. We go to my mothers house in Queen Creek each year for breakfast, one of the family traditions. We have a wonderful breakfast and then open gifts with all the Cousins...Here is Madison getting her Christmas ornament the plays music when you squeeze it. She loves putting them on the tree and then squeezing to hear the music, it kind of gets mixed together since each one of them play a different song. So we get Silent Night, Joy to the World,We Wish you a Merry Christmas and Jiggle Bells together, interesting at times!

Fun with Aunt LeAnn

Today I went and spent sometime with my Aunt LeAnn. We made rolls for a wedding she is helping with, made chocolate chip cookies and then played "Scene It Disney Addition 2". My mom won both games. It was really fun able to spend time with my Aunt LeAnn! She also gave me a Book of Mormon that had hers and my cousin Lorin's testimony in it. I read it and it made me cry but I know what they said is true and that I too someday will have a strong testimony...
